Changing, rearranging, everything that is not working.

I need to ditch the 40 pounds I have picked up along life's journey. I have carried them with me as if they were a souvenir. It is now time to move on and clear space for the rest of my life. These 40 pounds have got to go!
I must confess, I have had little success in my attempts to ditch these 40 pounds of good for nothing fat. This blog will be my way of tacking my journey of becoming healthy.
My weight today 163 pounds.
I do not feel good at this weight. I want to feel healthy.

  2. I am posting for my cousin Sonya. She had trouble posting on the blog.

I'm very grateful to God and give him all the glory for the last 126 weeks of weight loss and healthy eating. I have loss 100lbs for 1 year on April 17 of 2011. I started this as a 5 year goal 20 lbs a year and with God's blessings in 15 months I reached that goal. I continue to surrender each day to God and ask him to strengthen me in all things. All things are possible and I give him all the glory. I have loss 25 more pounds in the past 12 months. Total 125 lbs lighter thanks to our Lord. I send you God's blessings and lots of love to have the courage to take one day at time one minute at a time and know that God is there with you. My daily prayers are to have God watch over my family and that they have peace and well being. Trust in the Lord and all things are possible. Love you Carnitas
This is from my cousin Sonya! Wow that is inspirational!

  3. One year ago in March I learned quite unexpectedly that I was diabetic. I felt like the other shoe had dropped. This on top of RA and other health issues. My doctor put me on a low carbohydrate diet and sent me to my clinic's dietitian. She explained the diet to me and said that I didn't need to worry about calories--just carbs. Long story short, I lost 50 pounds in less than six months and have kept it off. I've been at a standstill since Christmas but I'm hanging in there and plan to lose another 25 pounds. I had not been able to stay on any kind of diet in years. The word diet just made me want to eat. I do not regard myself as dieting. I'm eating healthfully and carefully. I'm almost never hungry. I've been amazed. My self confidence went up a notch and I love the new clothes. If you are interested in counting carbs I can give you some tips. It is so simple but you do have to read the label of everything you eat.

  4. Today's helpful hint is my favorite one. I discovered, quite by accident, that Silk has a product that I love. It is Almond Milk and if you buy the unsweetened one it has only 6 grams of carbs per cup and 40 calories. Having the sweet tooth that I do, I add 2 packs of the pink stuff to a half gallon. This really cuts down carbs and calories if you like cereal for breakfast. My cereal is Post Honey Bunches of Oats, 24 carbs for 3/4 cup. I haven't found anything nearly as good for so few carbs. I can't believe anything that tastes so sweet can be so healthy. So I guess that's 2 tips instead of one for today. Good luck to all.

  5. When I retired at the beginning of February 2011 I weighed 145 lbs. I'm creeping back up toward 150. I'm a stress eater and setting up COBRA and other medical stuff is sending me over the edge. I trust that once everything is set up it will flow more smoothly. I want to be 125lbs, which I haven't seen in 16 years. I hope this will help me and I will be of help to others.

  6. Fell off the wagon yesterday eating some cookies that weren't even good. Trying to catch today's ride. Vowing to do better.

  7. I know you will. We all fall of the wagon. You will get back on track!

I am borderline diabetic among other things. I going to look into the counting carbs. I have made an appointment with dietitian.
    Thank you for sharing.

  9. Hello,
This is what I have discovered about my body and weight issues.
I need more protein and less simple carbs. I am addicted to simple carbs.
I should never eat a piece of fruit with out eating a serving of protein.
My blood sugar medication is making me fat!
I met with a nutritionist last Monday.
I lost 3.8 pounds this last week!
    What's new with you?

  10. For some reason, I am always losing focus on things that concern me. It is so much easier to help someone else. Why do I do that? I think it is an excuse. I am avoiding dealing with my complicated self.
Does anyone else have this problem?
